Freelancing is freedom, but it's also a trap. You trade a boss for multiple clients, and your income is capped by your hours.
The Ceiling
Most freelancers hit a ceiling at around 40-50 hours a week. To break through, you need to change your mindset from "doing the work" to "selling the outcome."
Steps to Scale
- Productize Services: Stop selling "hourly dev." Sell "Landing Page Package," "SEO Audit," or "Performance Optimization."
- Build Systems: If you do it twice, write a checklist. If you do it ten times, automate it.
- Hire Help: Start with non-core tasks. A virtual assistant for emails, or a junior dev for CSS fixes.
Client Selection
The 80/20 rule is real. 80% of your headaches come from 20% of your clients. Fire the bad clients so you have space to onboard the good ones.
